Dubai Solar Park

Today, there is concern about energy production from clean fuels all over the world, and this issue has increased especially in the Middle East countries and countries that use oil and gas resources.
For the UAE, it is among the forerunners of this issue that this work can be done with the many advances it has made in the field of construction and development.
As you know, the city of Dubai is a city that consists of vast desert areas and the sun shines on it uniformly, and considering that the UAE is a country with a tropical climate and a desert region, it makes it possible to use the sun’s energy.
The construction of a solar park that converts solar energy into electricity by absorbing sunlight is something that is being done in the UAE. Due to the size of Riyadh, this park is the first solar park built in the world. Although this idea was theoretically proposed in several other countries, the United Arab Emirates was the leader in the construction of this park and system.

Due to the size of Riyadh, this park is the first solar park built in the world. Although this idea was theoretically proposed in several other countries, the United Arab Emirates was the leader in the construction of this park and system. The construction of the first phase of this park started in 2013.
On March 20, 2017, the second phase of the 200 MW Solar Park power plant, which is the largest and the first project of its kind in the region, was launched.

This project will provide clean energy to 50,000 residences in the UAE and reduce 214,000 tons of carbon emissions per year.

The goal of building this park by 2023 is to increase the use of solar energy to 25% and to increase the use of solar energy to 100% by 2050.

This investment of 50 billion dirhams (13.6 billion dollars) can provide electricity to more than 1.3 million homes and reduce the amount of carbon produced in this country by 6.5 million tons annually.

The construction of this solar power plant was announced in 2012, and under the conditions that its construction is scheduled to be completed in 2030, the construction of the 5,000 megawatt Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park will take 3 times as much time as the Burj Khalifa. . The first and second phases of this project have been completed, which includes 2.3 million photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 213 megawatts.

The tallest tower of the concentrated solar power plant was prepared in March 2018. In this tower, mirrors called heliostat will be used, which will focus sunlight on the top of the tower to heat a stream of molten salts. This heat is used to power the steam turbines of the power plant, which will eventually produce electricity.
Concentrating solar power plants store energy in the form of heat and not in batteries. It is said that, normally, the concentrated solar power plant has a slightly higher efficiency than the photovoltaic panels. The thermal energy tank is 10 times cheaper than the electric energy tank. This makes this technology superior. In practice, this means that this tower can continue to generate electricity even without the sun and during the night. Burj Dubai can store heat for 15 hours and generate electricity 24 hours a day.
This tower is 260 meters long and more than 70,000 heliostat mirrors are used in it.

2.3 million solar panels were installed in an area of 4.5 square kilometers. The Dubai Water and Electricity Authority set a world record by obtaining the lowest price in the world at $5.6 per kilowatt hour. The solar panels that are placed at the top of Mohammed Bin Rashid Park are made of silicon and absorb the sun’s energy well.
Because this center is built in the desert of Dubai and there is a possibility of the panels being covered by sand, therefore, in an innovative measure, cleaning robots are used, which are cleaning the surface of the panels within 24 hours.
